The 2021 "Germany: Female Founder Nation?" Report, published in partnership with Handelsblatt (WirtschaftsWoche), discovered that Germany still faces a huge gap in gender equality (- 0.4 points below EU average score).
Join us for a deep dive into the data with Julia Ehlert-Hoshmand, Senior Economist for Handelsblatt Research Institute, followed by a panel discussion with Maria-Liisa Bruckert (SQIN), Dr. Vivien Dollinger (ObjectBox), Christina Burkhardt (SHIFTSCHOOL) and Mayra Frank (Google for Startups) where we will chat about the importance of role models, as well as the challenges and opportunities for women founders in Germany.

ObjectBox CEO Vivien has spent 15 years scaling and leading teams in the Mobile and Games Industry, with an MBA and PhD in Business from TUM and an MS in Computer Science. Vivien cofounded ObjectBox, a deep tech company that enables edge computing in IoT and Mobile, and is passing her coding skills–and the belief that women can do anything–onto her daughter.
SQIN CCO and Co-founder Maria-Liisa is a multihyphenate: founder, CCO, electrical engineer, consultant and mom. A business development specialist with extensive experience in digital transformation, Maria-Liisa wants to put the power of choice into the hands of cosmetics consumers; she’s using her many talents to develop SQIN, an AI-powered app that personalizes the complex world of beauty products.
Julia works as a Senior Economist for Handelsblatt Research Institute and is responsible for economic studies and reports. She studied International Business at the Universities of Maastricht, Berlin and Canberra in Australia.
