About this Event
We will be hosting John Sechrest, Founder of the Seattle Angel Conference. Co-Organizer of the Lean Startup Seattle. Global Facilitator for Startup Weekend.
As an entrepreneurial collaborator, John focuses on entrepreneurial and innovation efforts as a way to develop new projects and companies. His efforts are focused on building the tools , skills and processes that enable people to make a positive impact on the world.
When startups look for funding to help grow faster, the earliest stage Angel Investors in the US tend to look for some form of traction. Traction comes in the form of customer engagement. If we understand the “Lean Startup methodology”, then we see that customer development happens before product development. If you can show meaningful metrics on customer engagement, you set a much better foundation for raising funds and driving progress on your startup.
We will discuss Customer Discovery as Customer-Problem Fit and Customer Validation as Product-Solution Fit. By focusing on these early before the “mythical MVP”, you are able to cut the risks to your startup in half, and at the same time increase the chances of outside funding for your startup growth phase.
