Over the last years decentralized ledger technologies (DLTs) have led to innovative (and sometimes revolutionary) applications such as the detection of fake medicines or identity management for refugees. Artificial intelligence as well has seen some of the most revolutionary applications in the last years, such as first prototypes of self-driving cars (and reusable space rockets!) or highly sophisticated conversational agents and automatic translators.
In this Meetup, we will look in detail at some of the most innovative applications of these two technologies in the context of edge computing and specifically smart cities. The goal of this Meetup is to discuss with experts and non-experts the technical and socio-ethical consequences of combining powerful A.I. algorithms with DLT technology.
The event is free.
Interested in joining, please register here since we have limited seats available:

About the speakers:
As an academic and an entrepreneur, David A. Neville has always been interested in both artificial and biological computational systems. In particular, he is fascinated by how such systems can extract, represent, and manipulate informational structures to achieve complex cognitive functioning. In the start-up ecosystem, David’s work has been focusing on the development of artificial intelligent systems for a wide array of applications. For Helix Cognitive Computing he has been developing artificial cognitive systems as interfaces for distributed ledger technology and for Nostos Genomics he has developing machine learning models for the analysis of genomic data.
Berlin-based tech startup, Helix Cognitive Computing is on a mission to develop a robust blueprint for IoT-sourced DLTs. By using a next-generation peer-to-peer digital exchange network based on its own distributed ledger – the HelixTangle, the HelixMesh Protocol and a native currency – the HLX coin, Helix has been developing a new digital ecosystem with a strategic focus on cutting-edge technologies based on decentralized distributed systems and cognitive computing.
The primary use case of Helix is to provide decentralized network infrastructure for computing resources with a focus on edge computing and IoT devices. Once Helix is populated with seed applications, it will enable entirely new business models with interactions where end users can be businesses, single individuals, or even non-humans – thereby making it an ideal platform, e.g. to run very efficient machine-to-machine (M2M) transactions.
Helix wants to create an open development environment where users, students or employees, can create decentralized programs.
