About the speakers
Theo Kauffeld believes that mobile apps are true game changers as they can combine theoretical knowledge and practical exercises to bring about real change. She is passionate about empowering women, tech4good and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. Before starting her own company with her sister Louisa, Theo worked as a product manager and business developer in typical male-dominated industries, which was the fuel and inspiration for founding Equalista.
Louisa Wiethold sees entrepreneurship as a unique opportunity to not just build products that make a difference, but also create workplaces where people thrive. She is the operational mastermind at Equalista ensuring financial liquidity while developing a solidary company structure and culture. After spending some time in the audit business, she decided that founding a company is the way to unfold her full potential.
Equalista is the world’s first mobile learning app helping users understand and act on gender equality.
Ever wished you knew all the equality terminology, had those facts & figures ready when you needed them or had the perfect comeback to a sexist remark? Equalista will help you with that and more! The app will provide you with:
1. Knowledge – know what inequality looks like and how you can talk about it
2. Awareness – recognize when you are treated unequally and also when you are treating others unequally
3. Action – learn and train effective behavior/responses in situations of inequality.
Equalista is supported through the EXIST Business Start-up Grant for innovative technology by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and co-financed by the European Social Fund. Additionally, Equalista has gotten the public start-up grant “Gründung innovative” by the State Bank of Brandenburg (ILB) thanks to the innovative potential of the Equalista app.
