The HAKA is a group experience that challenges participants to contribute and connect in a meaningful and powerful way. By stepping outside of your comfort zone, you will immerse yourself, together with your colleagues, in an authentic warrior art form based on ancient Maori traditions.
With this FACTORY sponsored event, you can experience together with your colleagues, advisors and fellow members, tools and processes that will re-energize and empower you both physically and mentally.
This event is “Free of charge” for FACTORY MEMBERS together with your internal and external business partners. In order to invite friends who are not factory members, please send them this link. There will be the opportunity to network with the NZ embassy over drinks, and to truly embrace community.
What is HAKA?
Haka is equal parts a physical and mental experience.
Through easy to follow call & response exercises you will learn to perform a traditional HAKA. The new kinds of movements and verbal cues will challenge your brain and body creating a powerful physical and emotional response.
Kane explains: “As the rhythm draws energy from the group, your body will react as if challenged or threatened. By combining this feeling of uncertainty and the stability of the group dynamic, you begin to understand the importance of your contribution to the group dynamic. By allowing yourself to do this, you open up to authentic connections which will change the way you look at your private life and the way you communicate in the workplace. HAKA gives a sense of freedom and willingness to explore the physical and vocal power of each participant”.

HAKA is widely recognized by the New Zealand Rugby Team the “All Blacks” and their use of HAKA to intimidate their opponents on the playing field.
The All Blacks use HAKA as a signal of unity and to broadcast their intention to compete at the highest level. This is the mindset that accurately describes what HAKA represents and why HAKA is an experience recommended for all to try.
