We have a number of campus policies and organizational processes in place to ensure safety and well-being of the Factory Berlin members visiting our campuses.
COVID-19
-
We would like to remind everyone that as a shared community space, we expect our members to be considerate of how they conduct themselves in our campuses, as well as to be mindful when it comes to safety and well-being of the Factory Berlin community.
We kindly ask everyone to consider the following when it comes to visiting our campuses:
→ If you are feeling sick in any way, please do not come into campus. COVID-19 is still around, and even if you’re testing negative, it’s always unpleasant to pass around alternative illnessess, such as a cold or flu.
→ We encourage all individuals who are able to to ensure they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and if possible to talk to their doctor about the flu jab.
→ Currently we will not impose a mask mandate against the spread of COVID-19, however we will continue to follow local regulations on this matter.
Campus Policies
-
As a member of Factory Berlin, you can invite guests and bring them with you on site. You are welcome to bring the same guest to our campuses for a maximum of two visits per month. We have a dedicated process in place when it comes to guests which you will find below. Please note that the Community Desk staff may request the ID of anyone entering our premises, including our members’ guests.
If you have any further questions about our Guest Policy, you are always welcome to send us a message via [email protected] or approach our Community Desk team directly.
How do I invite a guest?
- Log in to your Member Profile.
- Click on the ‘My Guests’ button located on the top bar.
- Please give the full name and the email address of your guest and choose the date, time, reason, and location for which you want to invite them.
We’d recommend registering your guest in advance for any important meetings. Please note that we will hold onto the details of your guest (full name + email address) for a period of four weeks, in accordance with the Berlin Senate COVID-19 regulations.
I’ve sent the invitation. How will my guest be able to accept my invite?
Your guest will receive an email explaining that they have been invited to visit us as a guest and asking them to accept or decline our Privacy Policy. If they accept our Privacy Policy, they will receive an email with the date, time, and location of their invite, as well as a QR code to scan at the Community Desk to check-in.
What happens if my guest doesn’t accept the Privacy Policy?
Unfortunately, guests can only visit us if they accept our Privacy Policy. If they decline it, they will not be able to use the invite you sent and all of their information will be deleted.
However, you can always send your guest a new invite and, if they accept the Privacy Policy this time, the invitation will be finalized and they will receive a QR code for the check-in at the Community Desk.
My guest accepted the Privacy Policy. How does my guest check in?
The second email your guest receives has a QR code attached to it. When the guest arrives, they are required to scan the QR code at the Community Desk to finalize their check-in. Please note that the QR code is only valid for the day of the invite.
Does my guest have to check in at the Community Desk?
Yes, it is a requirement that all guests register/sign in at the Community Desk before entering the space for security purposes. Please be aware that any guests who refuse to register/sign in will not be granted access to the space.
It is also a requirement that our members pick up their guests at the Community Desk and accompany them throughout the duration of their visit. Should the member decide to leave the building (even if it is temporary), the guests are required to leave with them and can come back with them later on.
What if my guest didn’t receive a QR code?
If your guest did not receive a QR code, this is likely because they did not accept the Privacy Policy and thus did not receive the second email with the QR code in it. Should this be the case, you would need to send a new invitation so that your guest could still accept our Privacy Policy.
How will I know my guest has arrived?
Once your guest has scanned their QR code, you will receive an email notification asking to pick them up at the Community Desk.
Does my guest need to check out?
No, your guest does not need to check out when their visit is over. They can simply leave via our Community Desk area, the same way they came in. Please keep in mind that once you leave the building, the guests would have to leave with you.
Can I cancel my guest invitation?
You can cancel your guest invitation up until the day before. Should you need to cancel it on the day of the invitation due to illness, for example, please reach out to our Community Desk team on Slack or via email, so that we could cancel it for you.
What happens if I bring a guest more than two times in one month?
You are welcome to bring the same guest to our campuses for a maximum of two visits per month. After this, the guest will be denied entry until the following calendar month starts. Please keep in mind that we have the right to terminate your membership in case of the repeating violation of our Guest Policy.
Can I invite a member on a Network package as a guest?
Yes, you can invite guests as long as you purchased a Campus Day Pass for yourself.
Which Wi-Fi network can my guests use?
Your guests can have access to the same network as our members, and the details are as follows for both our Görlitzer Park & Mitte campuses:
Network: FactoryCommunityGuest
Password: Factory4ever
Can I bring my children as guests?
Members may bring their children with them as long as they do not disturb any working areas or interfere with the normal work. This does not apply during special opening times, such as outside service or opening hours. Keep in mind that our campus buildings are not designed for children and are not secured accordingly.
Can I bring guests or my children as guests over the weekend?
No, for security reasons that is not possible. Guests and children are not allowed on campus during the weekend as a matter of safety and supervision, since the campus is unstaffed over the weekend. The same rule applies even if you have booked a Meeting Room over the weekend – only members are allowed to access it.
-
Each member of Factory Berlin receives a Member Card. Your card is linked directly to your Member Profile and therefore cannot be shared with anyone else. The card has to be used for check-in and check-out at the Community Desk area, so that we could have accurate records of members entering and exiting our campuses. Additionally, you are also required to use your card to access our community events and meet-ups such as Happy Hour, Check Out Drinks, or Community Breakfast.
Please note that we reserve the right to terminate your membership with immediate effect, should you share your Member Card with a third party.
-
Factory Berlin loves well-behaved dogs! You will see a lot of them on our premises. Of course we want to make sure that every Factory Berlin member feels as comfortable as possible, so we came up with a few rules when it comes to our furry friends:
- No dogs are allowed in our quiet areas.
- Furniture is for humans only – dogs need to bring their own beds.
- Dogs must be leashed whilst on campus, even if your dog normally roams free.
- You as the dog’s owner are responsible for any damage they might cause, by either fixing it or paying for it to be fixed.
- Be respectful of other members, not everyone is a dog-lover. If a member asks you to move your dog away from them, please do so immediately.
Most dogs we have had at Factory Berlin have been great, but we kindly ask you to keep in mind that we reserve the right to ask you to remove your dog from our premises if they misbehave or disrupt the community in an uncomfortable way.
-
Filming & Photoshoots Organized by Members
If you would like to take some footage/do a photoshoot at one of our Factory Berlin campuses, you are required to complete this request form at least one (1) week prior to the date. Please make sure to send the filled out form to [email protected]
Our team will review the request, and if approved, we will place a notice sign the space to let our members know that the filming/photoshoot is taking place.
Please keep in mind the following:
- Be respectful of other people in the space and keep the disruption to a minimum (i.e. don’t be noisy, be as quick as possible, do not ask anybody to move from their working areas to accommodate the filming/photoshoot).
- You have the duty to obtain the written declaration of consent of those people who are participating in the production. Insofar as you can see people other than the people who are interviewed (e.g. members, guests, or Factory Berlin staff), you also have the duty to obtain the written declaration of consent. Exceptions are made in case of people who are shown blurred or are otherwise unrecognizable in the background.
Filming & Photoshoots Organized by Factory Berlin
Occasionally, we receive requests from media companies for filming/photoshoots at our campuses, and this is a great opportunity to showcase Factory Berlin and our community. We will always take it upon ourselves to be respectful and obtain any necessary permissions, but if you feel uncomfortable then please feel free to reach out to our staff or email us at [email protected]
Moreover, we are always happy to put forward our talented members for filming/photoshoots, so if you would be happy to be interviewed, please kindly email [email protected] with the following details:
- Your full name and name of your company (if applicable).
- Your area of expertise/industry/knowledge.
We would be happy to keep you in mind for our future requests and projects.
Designated Filming Zones
Regardless of who is arranging the filming (whether a Member or Factory Berlin), please be aware that we have allocated designated filming zones on our campuses to ensure minimal disruption to our members:
Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park:
- Restaurant*;
- Community Kitchens;
- Ballpit/Playground Area;
- First Floor Community Space;
- Closed Meeting rooms (bookable via the Factory Berlin app).
Factory Berlin Mitte:
- Café/Restaurant*;
- Outdoor Terrace Areas;
- Closed Meeting rooms (bookable via the Factory Berlin app).
Factory Hammerbrooklyn:
- Town Hall;
- Auditorium;
- Closed Meeting rooms (bookable via the Factory Hammerbrooklyn app):
- 1st Floor + 4th Floor can be accessed in certain circumstances if agreed with the Factory Hammerbrooklyn team.
* Please pay attention to whether spaces are closed or not accessible. It is not possible to film in the Cafe/Restaurant spaces outside of opening hours.
Our Community Desk and Security teams reserve the right to request you leave certain spaces at any time, in the interest of security, safety, or upon request from other parties.
If videos, pictures, or sound recordings containing the Factory Berlin logo, Factory Berlin Campuses, or other rights owned by Factory Berlin which conflict with the business interests of Factory Berlin, Factory Berlin has the right to prohibit their use.
-
If you would like to have an intern work with you at Factory Berlin on a daily basis, they will have to apply for membership too. As with all applications, there is no guarantee that the application will be accepted – so for this reason, please ensure that your intern takes the time to complete the application properly and provide some insight into their motivation to join the community, beyond simply working as an intern. You can also provide your intern with your Ambassador Code for their application to be fast-tracked by our team.
Please keep in mind that the three-month minimum commitment period applies to all members, even interns. We offer priority to applicants who are interested in long-term memberships (rather than the shorter-term memberships that are generally requested by interns) – but we are generally happy to invite people into the community if they can commit for at least three months.
This is due to the fact that Factory Berlin is a business club, and not a co-working space. We take great care in bringing together a group of individuals that are active and keen to contribute and grow together with the community. Another reason for this is that Factory Berlin is largely intended to be a place for cross-collaboration, and interns who work with teams are unlikely to be able to assist with projects beyond their immediate workload (which is, of course, understandable.
Alternatively, you can invite your intern as a guest, however do keep in mind that our Guest Policy allows for the same guest to come over for no more than two times per month.
-
Apart from its regular opening hours on weekdays from 08:00 – 23:00, our Görlitzer Park campus is also open and accessible to members on weekends from 09:00 to 17:00, so you can work late in the evening or have some extra work done over the weekend. Please keep in mind that we have some extra rules when it comes to accessing the campus outside our regular opening hours, which you will find below.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Hours: Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park is open on weekends, from 09:00 to 17:00.
- Entrance: On weekends, Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park can be accessed through the Main Entrance with the help of the Factory Berlin App.
- Check-in/out: All members visiting the campus have to bring their Member Card for the check-in and check-out. If members do not have their card with them, access will be denied.
- Service hours: Our Community Desk team is only available during its regular service hours (Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 19:00). This means that there are no services available (no post, no emails, no Slack replies, etc.) outside of these hours.
- No Guests or Children: No guests or children are allowed on campus on weekends due to security and supervision reasons, as stated in our Guest Policy. This applies even if you have booked a Meeting Room over the weekend: only Factory Berlin members are allowed to access it.
- Available Spaces: On weekends, our members will be able to access 1st Floor Community Space and 1st Floor Community Kitchen to make it easier for our Security team to supervise the area.
- Bike Cellar: Our bike cellar is closed outside our service hours. Members are welcome to park their bikes in front of the building. Please note that Factory Berlin will not accept any liability for them.
- Café & Restaurant: The Factory Berlin Kitchen & Café are closed outside of the service hours.
Please make sure to bring the following with you:
- Member Card: All members are required to bring their Member Card with them.
- Photo ID: We also need a Photo ID to complete the check-in process, so as a member you need to (a) update your Member Profile to ensure that it includes a current photograph of you, or (b) present our Security team with a valid Photo ID.
Please keep in mind the following:
- Right to Deny Entry: Our Security team has the right to deny entry to any member who does not abide by the above-mentioned rules. They will then record the members’ names in order to pass them to the Factory Berlin team.
- Abusive Behavior: Information on any member displaying abusive behavior towards the Security team will be referred to the Factory Berlin in order to take further disciplinary steps.
-
The Factory Berlin Campuses are properly fire protected. Everyone entering our campuses are subject to the Fire Protection Regulations A posted in the corridors. We ask that everyone memorizes the escape and rescue routes of their respective locations, which are also posted in the corridors.
All technical equipment such as fire detectors, fire hydrants, electrical distribution and switchboards, telephone exchanges, heating and ventilation systems must remain freely accessible and unobstructed. All entrances and exits as well as the escape routes and emergency exits are to be kept free without restriction.
Escape route doors with green signal locks, which must be pushed to the side before the handle is operated, so-called door guards, are only to be used in an emergency, for example, in the event of a fire alarm. They are not considered general access doors. Misuse of the door guards will have consequences for whoever misuses it.
In the event of a fire, everyone has the obligation to cooperate, evacuate, or be evacuated. There is a prescribed number of fire safety assistants in the Factory Berlin team. The orders of the Factory Berlin employees, especially fire safety assistants, and/or security forces, especially the police, fire department, and event director, must be followed. Announcements must always be heeded, and any instructions followed.
As a member of Factory Berlin, you have or can get access to our campuses and campus facilities. Find out what Factory Berlin campuses have to offer below.
Campus Facilities
-
As a member, you can use the Wi-Fi at both of our Görlitzer Park and Mitte campuses. Our guests are welcome to use the same Wi-Fi network and password as our members.
- Network: FactoryCommunityGuest
- Password: Factory4ever
Please check if your devices can receive the following standards.
- macOS: Press and hold the option key and click on the Wi-Fi icon in the top menu bar. Under your current Wi-Fi connection you’ll find the standard next to PHY Mode.
- Windows: Click the Wi-Fi icon to see your current Wi-Fi connection. Hover over the connected wireless connection to see the standard next to Radio Type.
Older laptops/modems may be mainly affected by this and it is recommended that you upgrade them with a suitable USB Wi-Fi stick. For daily use in the campuses, you can also rent a USB Wi-Fi stick at the Community Desk against a deposit (an ID document).
Wi-Fi Issues
If you forget the Wi-Fi password, your Wi-Fi password doesn’t work, or you are generally experiencing any Wi-Fi issues, get in touch with the Community Desk team who will be happy to assist you.
When it comes to accessibility and internet connection, you should also make sure that your network card drivers and operating system are up-to-date. Please check the driver updates on the manufacturer side of your network cards.
Wi-Fi Speed
We make sure to provide the fastest Wi-Fi connection possible for our members. You can expect the speed between 20 and 120 Mbit/s, depending on the number of people in the space, your exact location, etc. However, there is a potential 10Gbit/s upload/download rate at the Factory Berlin Mitte and Görlitzer Park campuses.
Firewall
Our Firewall makes sure that the network load is balanced, no FTPs are accessible, but please do not forget about some basics: please do not download/transfer extremely large volumes of data (more than 20 Gb), browse responsibly, and try not to create hotspots from your phones, laptops, etc. All of that may and will reduce the Wi-Fi quality for everyone else, and we would not like for that to happen.
Blind spots
Due to the nature of the building construction at our campuses, it is completely normal to experience lower Wi-Fi quality in some ‘blind spots’ (simple check: if you are surrounded by three concrete walls, there will be no Wi-Fi). We also have other companies and devices with Wi-Fi channels in the building, so from time to time, it is normal to experience temporary frequency interference.
-
Whether you want to shower after your morning run or freshen up after a long day, you’re welcome to use our showers at Görlitzer Park campus. You can find the showers on the Ground Floor next to the Creators Lab in Courtyard 3.
The showers are open for the community from 08:30 to 20:00.
-
Lockers
You will find lockers in the Community Kitchens on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Floor of our Görlitzer Park campus. You can book a locker directly through the Factory Berlin App. Once you are in front of the lockers, activate Bluetooth on your phone and open the Factory Berlin App, so that your phone can show you the one which is available.
Meeting Rooms
You can book a meeting room for a maximum of two (2) hours per day. This time can be broken down into smaller time slots of 30 minutes, e.g. 4 x 30 minutes or 2 x 60 minutes. If you want to book a meeting room for more than two (2) hours, scroll down to ‘Community Events & Meet-ups’ > ‘Host an event at Factory Berlin’.
Important to note:
- If you book a meeting room for longer than two hours, the Community Desk will cancel your booking with no notice.
- If you do not make use of your booking and do not show up within 15 minutes after the booking starting time, other members are entitled to use the space.
- You will be able to open the meeting room you booked with the Factory Berlin App. You should be able to open it even if the sensor is red.
Normally, you can bring a maximum of two (2) guests at a time, should you plan to work around the campus. You can invite more than two guests only if you have booked a separate meeting room for the time of your meeting. We advise you to check our Guest Policy closely before inviting your guests, so that you could familiarize yourself with the necessary steps required to register them through the system.

Meeting Room Tech Guide
How to Use Gateway to Enter the Room
The meeting room can be unlocked with the Factory Berlin App. Once you are in front of the meeting room, activate Bluetooth on your phone and open the App, so that your phone can scan for nearby doors and find the right one.
How to Connect to the Wi-Fi
Our members and their guests are welcome to use the Wi-Fi provided at our campuses. Use the following login details to connect to Wi-Fi:
- Network: ‘FactoryCommunityGuest’
- Password: ‘Factory4ever’
How to use HDMI
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the TV. In most cases, the cable should already be connected. Should you require assistance to re-plug the cable into the TV, please contact our Community Desk. If there is no HDMI cable in the room, you are welcome to borrow one from the Community Desk.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into your device’s HDMI port. The HDMI port is usually located on the side of a laptop device. If your laptop is a Macbook device, you would need to use an adapter. If you don’t have your own adapter, the Community Desk should be able to lend you one in exchange for an ID card as a security deposit.
- Turn on the TV and connect the cable securely. If your TV has multiple HDMI ports, take note of the HDMI port number you’re using.
- Switch to the HDMI source on your TV. Use the ‘SOURCE’ or ‘INPUT’ button on the remote to select the HDMI port.
- The HDMI is usually connected to INPUT 4.
- If the remote is not working, then the batteries might need to be replaced. In this case, you can ask for additional batteries at the Community Desk.

- When turning the connection off, don’t forget to switch back to the campus Wi-Fi.
We kindly ask you to refrain from:
- Using Power Circuits
Please do not bring your own charging hubs/stations to divide your device between multiple tech devices. We ask that you only charge the amount of devices which the wall outlet allows, as to not overuse, surge, or crash the power in the room or in the building. - Using Routers or Access Points
We ask that you do not connect any such advice without the Factory Berlin team’s support, as additional routers or access points can and will affect the quality of the Internet connection for all members in the building.
Meeting booths @ Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park
Since these meeting booths serve to facilitate meetings and collaborative work, the priority to use them is reserved for groups, rather than for individual members. Should a booth be empty, you are welcome to use it by yourself, yet we kindly ask you to give priority to any group of members who want to use it for a meeting. The same rule applies for all shared community spaces: use with care, share with others, and keep the noise level in mind.
Keep in mind that meeting booths should be used for no longer than 30 minutes at a time. Before you begin to use a meeting booth, make sure to start the timer on the wall to keep track of the time. After 30 minutes, our Community Desk team and other members are allowed to ask you to let someone else use the booth, if needed.
Phone Booths @ Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park
Factory Berlin Görlitzer Park has 14 phone booths located throughout the building. Phone booths can be used without prior booking, so if you see one that is available, you can simply jump right in. Phone booths are great for quick phone or video calls when you don’t need a big meeting room. Please keep in mind that the phone booths have to be shared with other members when planning the length of your call.

Troubleshooting Tips for Printing, Scanning & Photocopying
Please check below for possible issues. If you need any help, please post your question on the #-ask-factory_staff Slack channel or approach our Community Desk team directly.
Printer Issues
For possible printer problems you can also download and install the original drivers. It can happen that the driver is updated and that the system manufacturer takes longer to update the driver until it is available. There have been several updates on Windows that caused and fixed printer problems in the connection.
Printers:
- Campus Mitte: Konica Minolta C224e
- Campus Görlitzer Park: Ricoh IM C2000
Checklist of possible issues
- Reset: If you frequently change locations with your laptop, smartphone etc. or have not used the printer/scanner for a longer period of time, you should delete the existing data of the device (printer) in your system settings and add the device/printer (e.g. ‘Printer-GP-1st-floor’ or ‘Printer-Mitte-0-Floor’) again before printing or scanning.
- Operating System: Check if your operating system up-to-date (iOS, Windows, etc.).
- Format: Print the document in the correct format: A4 , Black & White, output tray.
- Device driver: You can also download and install the original driver for your operating system from the manufacturer’s website:
Printer Mitte
Printer Görlitzer Park
- Adobe PDF: If you misprint or cancel the print job of a .pdf document, open the file with another software that can open these files and try to print again or vice versa. Try to use the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Print approvals: Check if print approvals are available.
-

- If you are planning on leaving the Restaurant/Café area, please order takeaway. That way we have enough plates, cups, and cutlery for those who dine in. We have Factory Berlin mugs that you can take anywhere around the building – this is the best option for your takeaway coffee or tea.
- Please keep in mind that the magazines in the Café are there for customers to read and not to take with them. If you would like to get one of the older magazines feel free to ask the Café staff.

Community Events & Meet-ups
-
At Factory Berlin, we’re all about people and interactions. This is why we’d love to meet you and introduce you to our community at a Meet & Greet. During this one-hour session, you’ll learn how to get the most out of your membership, as well as meet the Factory Berlin team and your fellow members.
How does it work?
You can sign up for a Meet & Greet session directly in your Member Profile under ‘Manage Membership’ > ‘Meet & Greet’. Joining a Meet & Greet is optional and you can only sign up to one session. Meet & Greet is held several times per month, both online via Zoom and on-site at our Görlitzer Park campus.
Online Meet & Greet
Should you sign up for an online Meet & Greet, you’ll receive an email on the day of the session with the invitation to a Zoom video call 15 minutes before it starts. We kindly ask you to cancel your participation, if for any reason you cannot make it to the call. You can always reschedule for a different session directly in your Member Profile.
On-site Meet & Greet
Our in-person Meet & Greet sessions take place twice a month, once on a Wednesday morning, and once on a Friday evening. In a short session our team will give you an introduction to the highlights of our community, share some tips on how to make the most of your membership, plus you’ll connect with your fellow members, and will get a short tour of our Görlitzer Park campus.
Should you opt for an on-site Meet & Greet, you’ll receive an email upon your registration outlining all necessary information for the upcoming session.
If you have any further questions regarding Meet & Greet, you’re always welcome to contact us at [email protected]

Every second Thursday of the month we’ll gather for a relaxed beer (or two) at the Community Hub to get to know each other, with some short-and-sweet open mic project pitches, and plenty of time to chat and hang out.
-
Join us for an evening of music from one of our resident Factory Berlin DJs, a program of art installations, product pop-ups, and other activations. This monthly social networking event aims to bring together our community, welcome new members, and offer up a night of fun(ky) vibes. Come along on a Friday to celebrate the end of another hard work week, and share the successes of your month over a beer and a boogie.
-
Every second Wednesday of the month all Factory Berlin members are invited to join us in an informal atmosphere to grab some food and coffee, and have a face-to-face chat with other fellow members, as well as our team.
Can I join Community Breakfasts to share my product with the community?
We do often invite members to co-host events with us by either sponsoring the event or providing product samples in exchange for a booth. If you would like to take part in one of our Community Breakfasts, you are welcome to send us a message at [email protected] with a short description of your business and how you can contribute to the event.

Events at the Community Hub
Factory Berlin is the place where you can grow by sharing your knowledge with the wider community, find support, get feedback, and simply connect with other like-minded members. In October 2022, we opened up the Community Hub – a newly designated space set up with the purpose to allow our members to host a range of community-led events. You can submit your event proposal here, if you would like to host a workshop, a masterclass, or a meet-up at Factory Berlin and share it with the greater community.
Selected applicants can:
- Host their events at the Community Hub free of charge;
- Utilize basic event tech equipment + event furniture;
- Receive support with their event promotion.
Please keep in mind that all submissions coming our way will be subject to our curation. The decision will be taken with a consideration of the industry, the audience, the credibility of the content and expertise level of the speaker, the purpose of the event and how the event will fit into the larger programming and schedule.
Bigger events at Factory Berlin
We’re happy to support you with event management services and the selection of fitting event spaces on our campuses.
If you are looking to organize a bigger meeting, booking a meeting room or a workshop room for more than two hours per day might be the suitable option. To book a meeting room for more than two hours, please fill out this form.
For bigger events hosted by our members, we offer a discounted rental fee for each of our event spaces. These prices vary depending on the size/type of room. We kindly ask you to send your request via this form with all necessary information on your event.
