Berlin has undeniably become a startup capital for the Internet of Things (IoT) and FinTech industries. To recognize the city’s recent efforts and successes, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy appointed Berlin as the host of a digital hub.
In the frameworks of the Ministry’s initiative “Digital Hubs in Germany”, Factory Berlin has been awarded the official digital hub status in the fields of both IoT and FinTech. Factory will join forces with the Berlin Center for Digital Transformation, NBT and FinLeap in the creation of the hub.
The aforementioned locations were selected based on strict criteria, including the scale of their global network, and demonstrated efforts in connecting and supporting both early-stage startups and large companies.
In cooperation with NBT and the Berlin Center for Digital Transformation, Factory will take the lead on all things related to IoT. Partnering with Finleap, a Fintech company builder based in Berlin, Factory will also be involved in the creation of a FinTech hub.
The state of Berlin and Berlin Partner for Business and Technology will support the organizations in the construction and activities of the digital hub.
We look forward to the partnership and to help build a launchpad for exciting new companies and projects in both the IoT and FinTech sectors.
