Big Table Brunch: Creator Networking
Big Table Brunch is a monthly networking format where members and guests share experiences, exchange ideas and connect over inspiring topics which drive our community, like Sustainability, Future of Work and Empowerment.
With speakers and hosts from our community and extended network, we welcome you to take a look at what we’re building here at Factory Hammerbrooklyn.
This month, we're excited to have filmmaker and creative consultant Martin Monk as our keynote speaker. Martin's latest work, Favourites, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and explores themes of identity and self-discovery. Martin is also an educator, teaching filmmaking to teenagers, as well as a project manager for D&AD, for whom he produces their renowned Shift with Google programme in Germany, a creative talent incubator with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and be inspired by the incredible work of D&AD, a non-profit association dedicated to stimulating the creative industry and inspiring the next generation of talent.

Martin Monk is a filmmaker, photographer, and creative consultant from Berlin. After studying history and philosophy in London and Paris, he turned to cinema, directing several self-produced short films. His latest work Favourites traces the steps of a runaway girl in search of her father and premiered at the prestigious Cinéfondation during the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the German short film prize and an official candidate for the European Film Awards (EFA).
Martin is also an educator, teaching filmmaking to teenagers, as well as a project manager for D&AD, for whom he produces their renowned Shift with Google programme in Germany, a creative talent incubator with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Since 1962, D&AD has inspired a community of creative thinkers by celebrating and stimulating the finest in design and advertising. The D&AD Awards are recognised globally as the ultimate creative accolade, entered and judged by the best from around the world. But it’s much more than just awards. Members join a vibrant global community, whilst creatives and clients are inspired by a world-class training program.
As a non-profit advertising and design association, all D&AD’s surpluses go straight into programs such as New Blood and Shift, inspiring the next generation of creative talent and stimulating the creative industry to work towards a fairer, more sustainable future.
