Fireside Chat with Rolf Schrömgens (trivago)
What really motivates hard work?
trivago Co-Founder Rolf Schrömgens has proven the value of exploring new approaches to leadership and business.
In a time when motivation was assumed to be fueled by incentives and rewards, trivago was the first German startup with no titles or prescribed vacation days. This bold structure was a winning bet for the company; growing from just €1.4m initial investment, trivago is now one of Europe’s most notable unicorns with over 5,000 employees.
Their story begs the question: if not traditional incentives, what really motivates hard work and success?
Following trivago’s massive success, Rolf left in 2019 to launch Leadership Sprouts, a non-profit which aims to answer exactly that and ignite an evolution of leadership along the way.
Rolf joins us onstage at Factory Berlin to explain what actually unlocks cognitive work, why we all need to “de-learn” how business practices and redefine what performance really is.
For startup employees, founders and freelancers alike, join to unleash the full potential of your business, your team or yourself as a leader.
