Trent will give an overview of a shared public database for the internet, to allow sovereign management of personal data and to celebrate the cultural commons while compensating creators. This includes the BigchainDB scalable blockchain database software; and the IPDB network with governance. BigchainDB adds blockchain characteristics to MongoDB, to merge the best of distributed databases with blockchain benefits. This talk also cover the relation to the rest of the decentralized software stack, and real world applications of the shared planetary database.
Joe Drumgoole, Director of Developer Advocacy for MongoDB in EMEA will also give a short overview of MongoDB 3.4 which was released in December 2016.
There will be beer and pizza for all attendees.
